History of Red Jacket Rotary Club

Red Jacket Rotary began in 1976 with the sponsorship of Canandaigua Club's Anthony Symigs and Henrietta Club's Jack King, along with 25 charter members.  We still have an active charter member!

Through our fun and innovative fundraising efforts, Red Jacket Rotarians raise over $30,000 annually.  Funds raised go to support community, national and international service projects.  Over the past 10 years, Red Jacket Rotary has put nearly $200,000 back into our community.

History of Rotary International

Rotary was formed in 1905 by Paul Harris and 3 Chicago friends.  Rotary has continued within clubs all over the world for over 100 years, all guided by the motto:

"Service Above Self"

Currently, Rotary International has more than 1.2 million members in over 200 countries that provided more than $2.9 billion for service projects in these countries.

Rotary Ethics are based on a "4-Way Test"

1.  Is it the Truth?
2.  Is it fair to all concerned?
3.  Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4.  Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
